Pretoria Health Line

A wellness-focused range for Pretoria needed small portable portion packs that could move quickly through retail and distribution. We supplied strip sachets with flexo-printed artwork, set up for repeat production and delivery across South Africa.

A Pretoria brief built around portion control

The client was a wellness brand based in Pretoria that needed a neat, practical way to pack measured portions for daily use and resale. Their range had to be easy to count, easy to carry and simple to hand out through clinics, health shops and direct distribution. The main request was for strip sachets that could hold small doses in a tidy format while still carrying clear branding on every unit.

The product had to look consistent from batch to batch and stay manageable for transport between Gauteng and the coastal branches. Because the packs were going into mixed supply chains, the client also wanted a format that could be stored in cartons without taking up too much shelf space. We worked on a structure that allowed for efficient packing, quick dispatch and practical handling in busy distribution rooms.

  • Client type: wellness range supplier in Pretoria
  • Pack style: strip sachets for portioned contents
  • Use case: portable packs for retail and distribution
  • Main need: clear print, tidy presentation, repeatable output

Printing constraints, format size and press setup

This project had a few practical constraints. The sachets needed to be compact enough for portability, but not so small that the text became difficult to read. The artwork also had to stay legible on a narrow face area, which meant paying attention to copy length, panel layout and colour placement. On a strip format, even a small shift can affect the look of the whole run.

We prepared the print and converting plan to suit the material and the fill method. The job called for a format that could move through production without unnecessary waste, especially on a repeat order path where consistent registration matters. Pretoria summers can bring heat during transport, and in coastal areas humidity becomes a factor too, so the chosen film needed to handle storage and delivery conditions sensibly.

  • Format: strip sachets in a narrow multi-up layout
  • Print method: flexo printing for repeatable batch output
  • Artwork challenge: small panels with clear product details
  • Production aim: low waste and stable registration

What we supplied for the strip sachet run

We handled artwork prep, proofing, colour matching, material selection, pouch converting support and sachet production for the project. The artwork was set out to keep the core branding visible while leaving enough room for the required panel information. Our prepress team checked line weights, text size and contrast so the final print would still read clearly after conversion and packing.

The production team ran a practical sample check before moving to the main order. That step helped confirm the seal area, panel alignment and repeat pattern across the strip. Once approved, we moved into full production and dispatch coordination from our Pinetown base. The client needed the order sent in a way that suited distribution to Pretoria first, then onward to other centres as stock moved. It was straightforward, but exact timing mattered.

  • Artwork prep with panel layout checks
  • Print proofing before the main run
  • Colour matching across the brand elements
  • Dispatch planning from Pinetown to Pretoria and beyond

Timeline from brief to dispatch

The project moved from brief to dispatch in four weeks. Week one covered the packaging brief, artwork review and material discussion. Week two was for proofing and layout sign-off. Week three covered production and converting. Week four was used for final packing, logistics planning and collection or delivery arrangements. That sequence gave the client enough time to check details without slowing the launch.

Because the packs were meant for ongoing use, we also set the order up so it could be repeated with minimal changes later. That is useful for a wellness range where product demand can shift with seasons, promotions and new stock cycles. Once the file structure and print settings are sorted, repeat production is much easier to manage, and the client does not have to start from zero each time.

  • Week 1: brief, artwork review and material choice
  • Week 2: proofing and approval
  • Week 3: production and converting
  • Week 4: packing and dispatch coordination

What changed after the new sachets went out

The main result was a cleaner, easier-to-move format that suited the wellness product line better than loose pack methods. The strip sachets made stock handling simpler for the client team and improved the way the product was presented on shelves and in cartons. The order also gave the brand a more organised look across its distribution points, which helped with repeat supply and stock counting.

From our side, the work confirmed that strip sachets are a practical choice when a range needs portability without losing control over presentation. If we were to do this again, we would use the same approach: keep the copy tight, test the panel sizes early and confirm the delivery sequence before production starts. That saves time and avoids rework, especially when the order is heading to more than one city.

  • Cleaner handling for distribution teams
  • More practical shelf and carton presentation
  • Repeat-friendly setup for future runs
  • Useful format for portable wellness portions
