Order Process

Here is how a packaging enquiry moves from first contact through to print, packing and delivery. We keep the process practical so local brands in Pinetown and across South Africa know what to expect at each stage.

1. Start With Your Packaging Enquiry

Most orders begin with an enquiry through our contact page. Share the format you need, whether that is pouches, sachets or wraps, plus the product size, pack quantity and where the packaging will be used. If you already know your target fill weight, seal area or finishing preference, send that too. It helps us narrow down the right material and print setup from the start.

Our team in Pinetown handles enquiries for local brands in Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and surrounding areas. We also work with businesses in Pietermaritzburg and Ballito that need practical lead times and delivery arranged around operating hours, load-shedding and production planning.

2. Review Of Format, Material And Use

Once we receive the enquiry, we look at the packaging format and how it will be used. A sachet for a sample pack is handled differently from a stand-up pouch or a printed wrap for a flow-wrapped product. We also consider storage conditions, handling and whether the packaging will travel through warm inland routes or humid coastal areas where material choice matters.

  • Pouches for retail packs, refills and promotional formats
  • Sachets for single-use portions, samples and add-on packs
  • Wraps for bars, dry goods and other formed or wrapped products

At this stage we discuss material selection, print coverage, seal requirements and any practical limitations on size or finish. If the job is a short run order or repeat production, we note that early so the schedule stays realistic.

3. Artwork Prep And Print Proofing

Artwork prep is where the job starts taking shape on press. We check supplied artwork for layout, bleed, text placement and colour use, then prepare it for flexo printing. If a file needs adjustments, the issue is flagged before production begins so there is less risk of delay later. This is also where we confirm barcode placement, panel order and any variable details that need to sit in the right position.

Before we move ahead, proofing is used to confirm the layout and general appearance of the pack. This step is important for colour-sensitive work, especially where a brand needs repeat production to match earlier runs. A small shift in shade can change how a range looks on shelf, so we take the time to check it properly, not rush it.

  • Artwork review and file checking
  • Layout confirmation before print
  • Colour matching discussion where needed
  • Proof review before production release

4. Production Planning And Scheduling

After proof approval, the order moves into production planning. This includes material booking, press scheduling, converting slots and dispatch timing. For customers with fixed launch dates or seasonal promotions, we plan the job with those dates in mind. We also factor in local delivery routes, factory loading times and any municipal access issues that may affect transport through busy industrial areas.

Our production manager and logistics coordinator work together so the print run, converting and dispatch all line up. If the order is going to multiple delivery points, we can coordinate by branch area and stage the release accordingly. That is useful for national brands who need stock sent to more than one city at once. Communication stays direct throughout, so there is no guesswork about what happens next.

5. Printing, Converting And Quality Checks

Once the job is released, flexo printing begins and the packaging is monitored through the run. The aim is consistent colour, clear copy and clean registration across the full order. After printing, the material moves into pouch converting, sachet production or wrap finishing depending on the format ordered. Each stage is checked before the next one starts.

We keep a close eye on details that affect how the pack performs on shelf and on line, such as seal area, cut accuracy and print alignment. When a job calls for repeat production, we refer back to the approved setup so the same look can be maintained as closely as possible. The process is practical, and it saves time when a client is trying to keep stock moving.

  • In-run checks during flexo printing
  • Converting and finishing by format
  • Seal and cut checks before dispatch
  • Repeatable settings for future orders

6. Dispatch Coordination And Delivery Across South Africa

Finished orders are packed for dispatch and handed over according to the agreed delivery plan. We service Pinetown, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontein, with additional delivery support for Pietermaritzburg and Ballito. If a delivery needs to go to more than one site, we organise the paperwork and routing so the handover is easier to manage.

Our logistics process is straightforward. We confirm the destination, timing and contact person, then prepare the order for transport. Where a client is working around warehouse receiving hours or production shutdowns, we try to match the delivery window as closely as possible. Good planning helps prevent stock sitting in a truck longer than it should, especially in hot weather or damp coastal conditions.

7. Reorders And Ongoing Packaging Support

Many customers come back for repeat production once a pack is approved and performing well. When that happens, the order process is faster because the format, artwork and basic print settings are already on record. If there is a small change, such as an ingredient update, a quantity adjustment or a new delivery point, we build that into the next run.

We also assist with packaging consultation for brands that are still deciding between formats. Some products work better in pouches, while others are better suited to sachets or wraps. The right choice depends on filling method, shelf life, handling and how the finished product should be presented. If you need a practical order process with less back-and-forth, this is where a good working relationship helps. It keeps the next order moving without delays.
